McMullen Company Signs Kapnick Insurance Group to Renewal of Lease for Newly Expanded and Remodeled Ann Arbor Office
ANN ARBOR, MI – McMullen Company, an Ann Arbor commercial and residential real estate development and management firm, has signed Kapnick Insurance Group (www.kapnick.com) to a renewal of the lease for its recently expanded and remodeled Ann Arbor sales and service office in the McMullen-owned Atrium Office Center, Building III, on the city’s south side.
McMullen thoroughly upgraded the space to better accommodate Kapnick’s growing Ann Arbor staff, now numbering 23.
Kapnick is celebrating its 60th year in business. The firm provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, risk management, and financial strategies to companies throughout Southeast Michigan. Founded in Adrian, MI in 1946, Kapnick today operates full-service offices in Adrian, Ann Arbor, and Southfield, with over 12,000 clients and over 100 employees overall.
Kapnick has long served the Ann Arbor market. It gained a physical presence in the city when it acquired Harbor Benefit Services in 2001. The two firms now operate under one name, Kapnick Insurance Group.
“Harbor was already located in Atrium III,” says Michael Kapnick, chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Kapnick Insurance Group. “We did an exhaustive search to see if there were any better locations and properties for our growing Ann Arbor office. We even considered building our own. Ultimately we decided to stay in the Atrium. It can’t be beat for quality and highway access. Plus McMullen maintains it beautifully.”

Through four generations, McMullen family members have developed commercial and residential real estate in the Ann Arbor area.
