McMullen Company Signs Coherix to Lease in Valley Ranch Business Park
ANN ARBOR, MI – McMullen Company, an Ann Arbor commercial and residential real estate development and management firm, has signed Coherix, Inc., www.coherix.com to a lease for offices, testing facilities, and light manufacturing space in Valley Ranch Business Park on Ann Arbor’s south side.
Coherix develops advanced measurement and inspection systems to help automotive and semiconductor manufacturers improve quality and reduce cost by making process performance visible. The company’s headquarters are in one of multiple buildings owned and managed by McMullen Company in Valley Ranch. Most of Coherix’s nearly 40 current worldwide team members have offices in the Ann Arbor location.
“Valley Ranch fits us to a tee,” says Dwight Carlson, Chairman and CEO of Coherix. “The location is perfect, and we have room to expand. This is critical because we’re growing rapidly. Our products for the automotive and semiconductor industries are taking off, and we’ll add systems for aerospace and medical imaging in the next few years.”

Coherix offers the ShaPix® Surface DetectiveTM family of high-definition 3-D surface defect detection and metrology systems based on digital holography technology spun out of research at The University of Michigan. Automotive powertrain manufacturers and first-tier automotive suppliers use ShaPix products to measure and assure the quality of precision-machined parts and assemblies to micron-level tolerances.
To serve the semiconductor industry, Coherix provides PC-based, hardware-independent vision inspection systems based on the company’s proprietary I-CiteTM software. The newest Coherix product in this line, called 3DXTM, enables users to measure 3D characteristics of as many as 30,000 semiconductor packages per hour.
