McMullen Company Signs Car and Driver Magazine to Lease
for New Office Space in Eisenhower Commerce Center
ANN ARBOR, MI – McMullen Company, an Ann Arbor commercial and residential real estate development and management firm, has signed Car and Driver Magazine to a lease for new office space in the McMullen-owned Eisenhower Commerce Center on Ann Arbor’s south side.
The 10,000-square-foot space will house Car and Driver’s 35-person editorial staff, including the growing team behind the magazine’s online edition,www.caranddriver.com. Car and Driver has increased its Web staff by about 10 people over the past two years.
The new office space will also feature a testing area where Car and Driver writers can inspect, weigh, and assess vehicles for reviews and reporting in the magazine.
Car and Driver signed the new lease with McMullen Company in January, and expects to move into its new offices in Eisenhower Commerce Center in May.
“For 30 years, we have been in another property manager’s building, where our people and facilities have been spread through three suites,” notes Csaba Csere, the editor in chief of Car and Driver. “Pulling all of this together under one roof is a primary motivation.”
Csere adds, “In the McMullen property, we will all be under one roof with added space for our new testing area, extensive library, and online team. We will also have plenty of parking and easy freeway access. The McMullen property best fits our needs.”
Car and Driver is the world’s largest automotive enthusiast magazine with a monthly circulation of 1.3 million.
